No More Boring School Fundraising

I know that in order for my daughter’s school to have everything it needs, we need to have fundraisers. On an intellectual level, this is a true enough fact for me. My problem is that each year I am faced with the same, boring catalogs full of icky popcorn tins, over priced greeting cards, and cheap imported knick knacks. I’m no fan of the fundraisers our schools tends to use by default. I love the annual carnival, but aside from that I dread the other fundraising programs we do.

I want to get involved in the committee at school, because I think there are dozens of simple elementary school fundraisers we could be implementing. One super easy way would be to use a program like Schoolpop. All you have to do is get school supporters, like parents and teachers, to register their regular debit card or credit cards at Schoolpop and then when they shop at participating local merchants, that merchant will donate an additional 1%. Or, you can sign up for a Schoolpop Visa and earn 1% of every purchase made with the card.

It’s effortless fundraising and it doesn’t involve selling a bunch of gifts and products people did not want in the first place.
