Do You Need Another Reason to Boycott Chinese Goods?
We’ve had pets die from pet food made in China. There have been kids’ toys painted with lead paint, also made in China. Oh, and the poison toothpaste made in China. It seems like the list just never stops and now there is the case of the Valentine’s Day candy.
Metal fragments (a piece of a razor blade and a staple) were found in at least two lollipops sold at Central Florida stores. The candy was imported by Sherwood Brands of Maryland, from China. Sherwood says it is voluntarily recalling all of its Pokemon Valentine Cards and Pops.
These dangerous lollipops were purchased at Dollar General Stores, though at different locations. Officials say it appears the candy was not tampered with after production, but rather that the metal pieces were baked into the candy in China.
Niiice.
China already has a horrific reputation when it comes to the quality and safety of the products manufactured there. The nation said they are taking steps “boost product supervision”.
Wake up America. Not only is China stealing out manufacturing jobs, they are also sending us products that are potentially life threatening. What else is it going to take before laws are passed that prohibit products from China coming into the United States?
