Shopping for Men is Tricky

It is so amazingly hard to shop for a man. I don’t care how well you know a guy, shopping for them is difficult. When I was married, I had a short list of things that were safe to buy my husband as gifts. Once we got off that list, it was safer to just let him buy the things on his own.

My dad is notoriously hard to buy for as well. He has most of what he needs and a whole lot of stuff he will probably never even use again. He is a huge collector of Roy Rogers memorabilia, but he tends to only buy the really expensive, rare pieces. It’s best to leave that up to him. When I ask his wife what I should buy him for birthday and Christmas, she usually points me toward simply men’s jewelry. The problem is there’s a true drought of classy men’s accessories out there.

I like the things on the Tateossian.com website, though. They have some funky stuff that is sadly too young for my father, but they also have a ton of great classic pieces that are simple and timeless. There is this double-wrap braided leather Tateossian bracelet with a Sterling silver clasp that I just adore. I can see it as something my dad would wear on a daily basis. I’m just not at the point where I can fathom buying something my dad would only wear once a year, you know?
