Will He Play the Freak Card?
My apologies to Sarasota’s James Zinkand, who is a cast member on the current season of CBS’ “Big Brother”. I wrote an earlier article, highlighting him as yet another local reality TV wannabe and implied he was going to make an ass out of himself.
Granted, only two episodes have aired so far, but thus far Zinkland has kept his nose clean and looks like one of the less crazy houseguests so far. Now, I could be wrong. He might still be unable to keep himself from playing his freak card*, but so far he looks amazingly sane next to people like Adam, who is supposedly a PR manager for an autism foundation – even though he pretty much just walks around sneering and making crude jokes about disabled people.
And there are Ryan and Jen, a real-life couple who agreed to keep their relationship a secret in the house as part of one of this season’s twists. Jen did not make it past the first episode before she went telling people her “secret”, though, and followed that up with a tirade of bullying, name-calling, and oddly confident boasting. She is astonishingly unlikable.
Jacob and Sharon were the first couple voted out of the house. They were ex’s who each did not know the other was going to be on the show. When they got put together as a game couple, Jacob was excited to win Sharon back. Sharon, on the other hand, was horrified to even be in the same room as him. Sharon actually came off as sweet and funny. Jacob is a complete mess. His entire intro was all about how he is a serious Christian, but he had the filthiest mouth in the house, told astoundingly bold lies, and generally let the whole world know it makes him happy to stir up conflict. What a great kid, I muttered with sarcasm.
Who know how I get sucked into watching this crap. I suppose I am fascinated with how people act when they are thrown into a house together with no outside contact and a huge pot of money up for grabs.
*Ok, the freak card to which I refer is the bit being reported on the RealityBlurred site saying Zinkand once appeared in an amateur porn video and an ad for a gay porn site. According the RealityBlurred site, Zinkand is shown on the site SpyOnDudes having a little solo fun and making out with another guy. This should be an interesting season.
