Car Insurance Headache

I am sure I have mentioned before the dirty little trick my current car insurance company has played on me.

Here in Florida, there is something called PIP (Personal Injury Protection). There was a law saying all insurance policies had to include coverage for this. Then, there was a brief point in time last year where the state said we no longer had to carry PIP. So, it came off my insurance policy.

I called to cask why my insurance had not gone down in price, even though this PIP had been removed. Their reply was that they still technically had to cover personal injury so they were just absorbing the cots into other parts of my insurance.

OK, whatever.

Then, when the law changed AGAIN to say we had to put PIP back on our policies as of January 1, my car insurance company added it back on and jacked up my price. I called and asked why they did not just readjust it back and they said it was impossible, since they had to add new PIP coverage.

What a crock. Double dipping is all they are accomplishing. Now, I need to get on the ball and find new car insurance. Even if I have to pay more, I will, simply for the general ethics of the issue.
