Telemarketing Lists
You have to wonder about the lists that get sold to telemarketers. What percentages of the numbers on the lists are old, out of service, or bogus? I just now picked up the phone and answered a call for my step-father. My step-father has been dead for 5 years now and that means that his name and number has been on lists that are being sold for at least that long, despite the inaccuracy of the information.
I know there are tools out there to pre-screen call lists so that marketers do not use up valuable resources. Of course, that does not answer the tipple-whammy of the call I just received. Not only is my step-father long dead, our number is on the Do Not Call registry AND this was a pre-recorded marketing call, which is illegal as well.
Yikes, huh?
