It’s All About the Barrel Racing

One of the reasons I decided to put off going back to work fulltime for at least one more year was so that I could do more memory-making things with my daughter. She is going to be in Kindergarten next year, so we are making the most of the free time she has left and traveling, going to theme parks, seeing movies and plays, taking classes, and making sure we go to all of the fun events we want to.

I am thinking that this year I want to make sure we get over to Disney at least four more times, go up to the Land of Oz theme park in Beech Mountain, NC (which I loved as a child and want to be able to share with my daughter during the one time a year in October it is even open now), and the National Finals Rodeo out in Vegas in December.

The NFR is pretty much like going to the Super Bowl if you happen to be a fan of rodeo. My daughter and I are particularly fascinated by the barrel racing, because that is a totally female-centric event. If you want to see female athletes – real female athletes – you have got to see the barrel racing. All of the events at the NFR sell out, period. If you want Wrangler National Finals Rodeo tickets, you have to be on the ball and plan ahead.
