Computer Viruses, Factory Direct
It seems almost too bizarre to be true, but it turns out that it is quite a real fact that you can pick up computer viruses from gadgets you have buy brand new and connect to your computer. I’m talking about digital photo frames, iPods, GPS systems and all kinds of other cool electronic gadgets with name brand power like Apple iPod and TomTom. Some of them come pre-installed with viruses that can steal your passwords, open doors for hackers, and make your computer pass along spam.
I think most of us already know that there are a lot of online risks when it comes to viruses: file sharing, downloading files, and even e-mail attachments. What we don’t suspect is that when we plug our new iPod into our PC, it might load viruses.
According to the Associate d Press, it is mostly Chinese factories that are the source. So, the question presents itself: is the money companies are saving by using Chinese factories really worth the risk to the consumer?
Now, more than ever, you need to make sure your virus detection software is current.
