Insane Gas Prices

I already drive less now that gas prices are up. It is just not worth it to me to damage my budget in order to tool around town a little more. Additionally, we are buying far less when it comes to non-essential foods and entertainment products.

Get this: one gas station in the tiny town of Gordo, CA has their gas priced at $5.20 a gallon. Is this a glimpse of things to come? Experts are telling us to expect gas to cost an average of $4.50 a gallon by July. It is simply enough to drive even the cleanest living individual to alcohol and drugs, but then who would be able to afford the addiction treatment after the price of everything else you have to buy regularly is going up?

Gas station owners say the profit margins are lower than ever, one owner in Dallas saying he makes about 6 cents a gallon. The general understanding is that some retailers feel like they are going to be driven out of business in short order.

I was considering buying a season ticket to the Disney parks this year, but when I sat down and thought about the gas and hotel funds I would have to shell out on the multiple trips we would have to make in order to render the card useful, I backed off that plan. It’s simply not economically wise.
