Wow, it seems like you just can’t go through the morning paper anymore without reading how yet another teacher has become sexually involved with a student. The newest local case is that of 28-year-old Stephanie Marie Ragusa and a 14-year-old boy.

Let’s not even debate whether or not this is wrong. The kid is a minor; the teacher took an oath and agreed to adhere to a Code of Ethics. It is wrong and she should be punished.

I also think the kid’s parents should be punished. What in the world was he doing at the teacher’s house at least two separate times at night. Parents, get a grip and make sure you know where your under age children are at all times.

My amazement lies mostly in the area of WHY? Teenaged boys are gross. Honestly, truly, undisputedly disgusting. The kid was 14. Surely she noticed the skid marks and pimples, the Dorito breath and caveman-like vocabulary. Don’t get me wrong, I know these boys are going to grow up and be perfectly acceptable adult men, but for now they are teenage boys, in that awkward, unwashed stage between cute kids and manly men; and that just should not in any case be an attractive thing for an adult woman.

Adult women should be looking at men their own age, no matter how untrainable and piggish they may be. At least they have armpit hair. Well, at least the ones who are not going through bizarre media-fed identity confusion and shaving their pits, chests and nether regions. Those men are not exactly on my list of normal men. Anyway, Ms. Ragusa, maybe you should have funneled your discontent into a questionable desire for weight loss pills or a sudden longing to learn line dancing. But teenaged boys? Yuck.
