Authentic Chinese Food
Since my daughter stayed home from school today, I took her and my mother this really great Chinese buffet in the north part of the county. The best part about the buffet is that all along the back wall, they have the more authentic Chinese dishes. While I enjoy the steamed buns and few of the meat dishes that I cannot pronounce, I stay away from anything with tripe in it or dishes where I can see the animal’s feet. Other than that, I love the authentic dishes.
The main floor has the Chinese food Americans are more used to eating, like sweet and sour pork and fried rice and spicy chicken. I eat from those dishes as well, but that’s not why I go to this restaurant. I go to experience the foods that we usually don’t get to see in American Chinese restaurants. The food is just so amazing that not even the best diet pills would curb my appetite in this place.
The thing that keyed me into this particular restaurant is how many Chinese families go here on a regular basis to enjoy casual meals and family dinners. I started to take their lead when it came to choosing dishes off the line at the back wall and I’ll be forever grateful, because I’m sure I would never have discovered some of the foods I enjoy so much now – even though I still cannot pronounce most of the names.
