Did I Mention I Need New Luggage?
OK, so maybe I do not NEED new luggage as much as I WANT new luggage. I am trying to figure out the dates for my trip with my daughter to go see my dad in DC. While I was moving things around in the garage after the infamous snake incident, I gathered my luggage into one place. I took stock of what I had and I was disappointed to find that my luggage is in amazing shape, strong as can be, and in no danger of zippers or seams breaking anytime in the near future, or beyond.
I say I am disappointed, because I am bored to death with my late 80s floral brocade soft-sided luggage. It was dazzlingly hip when I first bought it. And, it has held up admirably. But, I am to the point where I just want some black, tailored looking bags. And, I want them to weight less. The new guidelines on airlines now mean that we need to pack lighter than ever to avoid being charged additional fees for our bags. The less the bag weighs empty, the more I can get inside the bag and still be under the weight limitations.
I’m on the lookout for stylish, lightweight bags that will hold up while being tossed around by the cretins who work in the baggage handling departments at the airport. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
