More Garage Upgrades

My brother-in-law installed some amazing shelving in the garage for me this weekend. Now there is sturdy, built-in shelving running all along one side of the garage and things like canning jars and cookie jars, tool boxes, old fans, cans of paint, and lawn equipment can be organized without having to be boxed up and so very out of site that I forget I have them.

Of course, the new shelves brought on yet another wave of getting rid of old stuff. I got rid of plenty when I moved, and then again last weekend when a snake got in the garage and I ended up moving everything out to find it. Oddly, older folks kept stopping their cars to ask if the yard sale was still running. It wasn’t a yard sale, but I entertained the masses with my snake story.

Anyway, this round of cleaning led to getting rid of the cat condo (now that the cat is no longer alive), dried up paint, bags of mulch that we just added to the flower beds, and some old toys. It wasn’t the haul we put on the curb last weekend, but we are slowly making the garage much more presentable. Now, if I could only clear out enough to move everything from my storage space to the house I would be a happy camper.
