When They Violate the Do Not Call List

I think most people would agree that the National No Call Registry has done a phenomenal job of cutting down on the number of sales calls you get. I can think of a few notorious offenders, though. There was a travel agency in town that would call with a recorded sales message. In order to find out who it was, I either had to call the number they provided in their recording or I used a reverse cell phone lookup directory. In any event, it only took a couple of warning phone calls from me to get them to stop.

When Dish Network calls, it can be a little trickier. They tend to sell the rights to sell their services to scores of subcontractors, most of which are not even in the United States. The name Dish Network never appeared on the called ID, but the rude sales person usually provided the fact that they were “representing” Dish Network. With a little reverse technology, I would be able to find more information to report to the Dish parent company.

For now, at least, the calls have stopped. Most companies do not want to be finded for violations. Take the time to register both your home and cell numbers with the Do Not Call Registry. It’s worth your time.
