Rediculously Simple Apple Cobbler
I’ve been thinking about apples and apple recipes, because the apple trees in our back yard are positively dropping with ripe apples. I know apples in Florida sounds impossible. These are very special apples, though, and are grown normally in Israel. So, they tend to grow well here in our subtropical climate.
I was going to blog about some of my family’s scrumptious apple goodies, but then I cam e upon one in the family cookbook that I can hardly believe. My disbelief is mostly because it only involved three ingredients. Unfortunately, none of the ingredients are fresh apples.
I won’t give away name, but I got the recipe from an aunt. She was known for a handful of amazing dishes, but the rest of the time she was a pretty simple cook – not really going in the for the fancy stuff. So, here it is:
Apple Cobbler
1 yellow cake mix
1 can pie filling
3/4 stick of butter, cut in slices
Put pie filling in 13×9 pan. Pour dry cake mix over the top. Place slices of butter on top and bake for 20 to 30 minutes at 350º.
Yep, that’s it.
