One Clear Dot

I have given away so many of my belongings over the past three years. We moved as a family once and I moved on my own once. I have very little with me right now and most of what I have is in a storage unit. So, I made an effort to get rid of clothing and toys and books. I gave away baby furniture and lamps and evening gardening things. I tried to downsize.

And still, there is SO much in that storage unit. I cannot seem to part with my daughter’s baby bedding, hundreds and hundreds of my favorite books, too many kitchen things, and clothes I have not fit into for 7 years. I think I am still a pack rat, despite my efforts to change that tendency.

I’ve seen pictures of the homes of true pack rats. I know I am not an extreme case. I don’t hoard, my home is relatively tidy, and I could probably be parted with most of my belongings if given a little outside motivation.

Still, I am looking for tips to downsize more. And, I need motivation to stop myself from adding more books and clothing to the fray.
